Ladyville Belize, October 27, 2015

Hello there my friends I have been at liberty for two weeks now.  It almost rained for a week. All the water trenches over flowed, in the city it flooded and there were crocodiles swimming around. Adam wanted to go to the city and see but it was to dangerous to go.

The kids at Liberty could not go outside when it rained because they might get sick. We didn't under stand why but we learned that the water trenches carry sewer water out to the ocean and when it rains and the trenches over flow you would be playing in the sewer water. Disgusting! Now we walk around the water.
Eating star fruit while doing homework. Its really good!
Yesterday we went to old Belize and pickle park with the preschool. Old Belize is a museum we had a tour and learned lots like =>   The black orchid and the toucan are the national flower and bird. Did you know that the sugar cane has 5 uses they are white sugar, brown sugar, molasses, rum and electricity. After you crush the cane they boil the syrup until some of the liquid evaporates.

I also learned about chiclet gum, it is from the sapodilla tree they would make v shape cuts into the bark.  The sap would get boiled and poured into blocks that had to be exactly 25 pounds and sent to wriggles in the USA.

The trip to the museum was awesome!

The lady said the plant Isaac has is birth control.

Cash had a party for the kids there was lots of treats and dancing.  The kids really like to dance and are really good at it. Drae and Jaheem tried teaching me to dance, they dance differently from how people at home do.

On the weekend we went to Belize City to watch Mr Wafee compete in body building. Mr Wafee is one of the caretakers at Liberty he is a very happy person. The people at Mr Belize and the music was loud it felt like it was going through my body.
Mr Wafee won!

Cash is leaving tomorrow, I am sad that she is leaving because she is nice and funny. I am also feeling a little homesick.

Thats all for tonight, check back next week to find out what we do during our day.

Leaving Day, October 9, 2015

No pictures today, it is leaving day today. We are going.... to ... the.. orphange!

We are taking a bus to Belize today. We will get picked up from the bus and go in a cab to the orphanage. The orphange is in Ladyville close to the airport. We might not have any internet there. We have weekends off and will go to town to find internet so we can talk to people and put stuff on my blog.

I think it will be a good experince to understand what it is like to live at a orphanage. Isaac is worrried about food and being hungry. Adam is looking forward to the day of the dead, maybe we will find a festival to go to. I am excited to play with kids my age. I am missing my friends at home.

Please go to the links and watch the video at utube to learn about where we are going and what we are doing.

GOOD                BYE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Akumal Bay, October 8, 2015

Today we went on a adventure. We went for a long walk on the beach. Some of the walk was sandy some was rocky. We had to jump from rock to rock. There was a lot of aguanas on the adventure. Some spots had lots of trees, there are some very pretty trees. We forgot to take a picture of the fresh water spring that we found. When we where walking down the beach we came across a cold spot. We looked around and saw lots of tiny rocks and the sand curved out. It was a good place to cool off and have a sip of water.

PS. I just figured out I can change the colour of the words. I hope you like all the colours.

We followed the trail through the trees, there were lots of cool plants. It was a dead end so we had to walk all the way back.

The coral looks like its growing tiny mushrooms.

We did not see spongebob anywhere.

It was cool to see the crab running sideways down the street.

Needle nose fish.

Adam was mad because Isaac put turtle wombs in his hair. Mom thought that was funny, I didn't understand why it was fuuny. Adam was mad because the sand is full of turtle egg shells.

Akumal Bay,TURTLES! October 6, 2015

Turtles! Turtles! and more Turtles!

The sand in Akumal Bay is rough and poky. It is full of turtle shells and little bits of coral.
There is 8 kinds of Turtles in the world, they are all endangered or threatened.  3 kinds are here at Akumal. 2 of them lay their eggs on the beach the green turtle and loggerhead turtles. The turtle digs a huge hole and lays the eggs, then she covers them up like a dog would do with a bone. The eggs take 55 days to hatch.

Wakey, wakey!
If the nest is cooler more boys will be born if the nest is warmer the more girls will be born.
The deeper you go the more the boy the higher you go the more the girl!

I am really excited for the turtles to come out.
A Crazy amount of turtles, they just keep coming and coming.
Most nests have 110 eggs! The turtles lay 2 to 8 nests a season.
The turtle shells are soft not hard like chicken eggs.

LOOK AT THEM GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not a lot of baby turtles survive, the birds had a good lunch.
I felt terrible, but thats life! :(
