Panama Canal

Panama, it was great and not so good. IT WAS MY!!!!!!!10!!!!!! B-bay    Woohoo!!!!!!!!

We went on the Panama Canal, did you know that they have bridges that connect north and south America we went under 2 of them the centennial bridge and the Bridge of the Americas The bridges are over 200ft high so hugemungous cargo ships can go under.

The Canal looks like stairs when the locks are all full of water. You drive into a lock it is like a big tub when they close the big thick metal doors and fill it with water. You go in 3 locks and get lifted up 85 feet! Then you go back down in 3 locks and out the other side.

When you drive through the canal it gets you from the Pacific to the Atlantic Ocean. There are 2 lanes so you can go both ways. If you had to go all the way around South America it would take 22 days. It only takes 8 hours to cross the canal but there might be a 30 hour wait for your turn And it costs about $90,000 to cross!!! The most expensive crossing was a cruise ship it cost over $400,000!!! They charge on how much it weighs and how much cargo you have.

It was very very impressive. The tug boats are very cool they push and pull the ships into the right place. They have huge water cannons on them and a hugemoungous winch!

NOW the not so good part... When we were on the canal I started to not feel so well, while we were going up the 3rd lock I hurled my lunch up all over the front deck and into the canal! I did not feel very good for the rest of the boat trip :(

THEN when we were walking off the boat and I dropped my hat into the canal! Very kind people digged it out for me! It took 30mins it felt like forever to get my hat out of the canal I was so worried I wouldn't get it back.
theres my hat!

AFTER I got my hat back we took the bus back to the hotel but before we got there I puked all over the bus and my hat! Gross Mom couldn't sit beside me anymore.
FINALLY we got back to the hotel and I changed my clothes that I puked on then we hoped in a taxi and off to the airport we go. On the way to the airport Guess what? I puked again but this time we had a bag ready. Mom got me some medicine at the airport it worked and I stopped puking! Whew!

We are off to Puerto Maldonado to go to the rainforest, Hasta luego!
