A walk around Ladyville Belize

Hi there, I left Liberty sadly :( I do not like typing no, typing is the worst. But my mom told me I have to. So I am going to start off with what I learned, I learned that I am different I do not need to worry about money or food or having a family or not being allowed to go inside, out of the hot sun! The girls aren't allowed to ride bikes, is that sexist? The kids can't go out of the compound unless going to school or they have adult supervision but that doesn't happen because there is 2 caregivers and 40 kids. I learned that picking on someone is harmful to your feelings, the kids here pick on you a lot if you are bigger or if you are sad, it was hard. The kids at the orphanage have to be tough because they don't have a mom or dad to comfort them. I enjoyed playing with the kids when they weren't teasing.

I didn't understand that people eat out everyday even though they are poor? It is weird!

The food menu at Liberty was a little boring but the lunches were great.

Breakfast, most days was tortillas with beans or a fried hotdog. We got waffles some mornings I didn't like the waffles when they put cheese on it.
Lunch was rice, beans and a piece of chicken, the last day was the best we had noodles!!!
Supper was tortillas with eggs or beans or a fried hotdog.

Mr luciano's had amazing burgers and mom had the best fried chicken.

there are big holes everywhere from the land crabs and iguanas

the roads are big rocks and sand

these are my moms favorite flowers

When mom and I went on our walking adventures around Ladyville to take pictures I saw a lot of garbage in the ditches and in the trees. It was weird that people still threw garbage on the ground even though they have a garbage truck every week.

The houses in Ladyville look poor but at the marina the boats were crazy nice looking?
We have not seen crocs yet.

Kianna one of the kids in town she was very friendly and always wanted a shilling

We had Adam bday supper here it was great

I like the fan trees

I'm trying to call but there is no service ; )
I only saw 1 cat
:

It is a dog town.

This is Samantha she is cutting the grass with a machete! I am happy I don't have to cut the grass with a machete! She said it gives her blisters.

That is the end of our time at Liberty. We will miss some of the kids, We are going to stop and visit when we pick up grandma from the airport.

Adam says "we should adopt a kid because we could give them a good life, many of the kids look at their future without hope. It is the right thing to do and it is such a simple thing."

It is a hard decision to choose a kid. There are so many kids that need help. There are lots of kids I would be ok having as a brother or sister but most of the kids have lots of brothers or sisters. I would like a brother about my age or younger.

See you later, watch for my next blog about my adventure in the rainforest! :)
